I have been an active member in Coquitlam Search & Rescue for over 4 years now and over that time I have tweaked what my pack contains more times than I can imagine. I have two main configurations, one for summer and one for winter. Of course, the winter pack has a lot more clothing and other gear such as an ice axe and sometimes crampons. Yet, the base is pretty consistent. The video below is a review of my summer pack. I hope my sharing of what I carry encourages other SAR members to share as well so we can all learn from each other. It is also my hope that by sharing what SAR members take with them it will help the recreational hiker who wants to take a little more than the 10 Essentials when in the back country. I look forward to your comments!
